Charlton sack manager Guy Luzon after 3-0 home defeat to Brentford in the Championship

Charlton have sacked boss Guy Luzon after they dropped into the Championship relegation zone on Saturday.

The Addicks crashed 3-0 at home to Brentford at The Valley, prompting the club to dismiss head coach Luzon within two hours of the final whistle.

Assistant head coach Damian Matthew and first-team coach David Martane have also parted company with the Addicks.

Luzon arrived at The Valley in January and helped guide Charlton to 12th place last season.

They started this campaign brightly but quickly hit the down slope and time finally ran out after the Brentford defeat made it 10 games without a victory.

A statement from Charlton added: "The club would like to thank the trio for their efforts and a further statement will be made in due course."

Charlton's next fixture is at Middlesbrough on Saturday.
