FIREFIGHTERS and paramedics worked for about 30 minutes to free a lorry driver trapped after his vehicle overturned in Station Road, Ditton, near Maidstone.

Emergency services were called out to the scene at about 4.20pm on Tuesday after the lorry turned on to its side, spilling diesel and hydraulic fluid out on to the road.

Firefighters from Maidstone and Larkfield used cutting equipment to release the driver from the vehicle.

Ambulance crews and a police crash investigation team were also present, and the road was closed until 8.15pm while the spillage was dealt with.

Nobody was seriously hurt in the incident.
