Kent County Cricket Club advertise for Paul Farbrace replacement

Kent put out an advert for the vacant head coach’s role on Wednesday and have set a deadline for the beginning of November.

A decision on whether a head coach or director of cricket will be recruited is to be based on candidates’ experience and chief executive Jamie Clifford (pictured) said the club would hold out to get the right man in, rather than rushing into an appointment.

He said: “What we are trying to do is be as open in what we are recruiting for, and head coach is probably the term that would attract the biggest pool of candidates.

"We have had global interest already, we are a high-profile club and I think there is always interest when a county is looking to appoint a coach.”

Meanwhile Kent have axed the club’s cricket committee. The committee, made up of former players and met often once every other month, has been replaced by a cricket operational management group consisting of the chairman of cricket, club captain, head coach, chief executive and Academy director.

It’s been put together in a bid to “take cricket forward” and will meet on a regular basis before reporting to the general committee.
