Learn to Pass may seem an unusual name for a football team to have as a shirt sponsor – but an 19’s side in Broadstairs say it fits their driving ambition.

For Learn To Pass local school of motoring is behind the impressive new blue and white striped kit that the team will proudly wear this season in its East Kent Division 2 matches.

Last year the side from St George’s School finished runners up in the league and are already moving into top gear for an assault at the title this season.

Team coach and school deputy principal Adam Mirams said: "Learn to Pass has been a great help to our students over the years, taking part in many of our enrichment days by offering them the chance to try driving in a safe and secure supervised environment at the school. Tony Isaacs from the company always stresses the importance of road safety and responsible car ownership. It is a really useful life skill for our students.

"The phrase Learn to Pass may seem a bit quirky as a sponsor of a soccer team but we couldn’t be happier with our association with an excellent local business – and our footballers do pass the ball well, just as our students pass their driving tests well."
