Teenage biker seriously hurt in crash

A MOTORCYCLIST was seriously injured when he was involved in an accident with a car on the A20.

The 18-year-old man suffered multiple injuries in the crash at Ditton, near Maidstone at around 10.45pm on Friday.

A fire crew returning to base after attending a fire alarm came across the scene shortly after the accident.

Crew manager David Giuralarocca said: "A small crowd had gathered and a man and a young girl of 18, who had received some first-aid training, were doing an excellent job of caring for the victim.

"We took over until the paramedics arrived and we also mopped up the petrol spillage and rendered both vehicles safe.

"Both vehicles had been travelling in the same direction, towards Maidstone."

The man was taken to Maidstone Hospital on a spine board suffering from serious leg injuries and injuries to his face. The car driver was unhurt.
