Tuesday football round-up

RAMSGATE won through to the semi-final of the John Ullman Kent Senior Cup with a 2-1 win over Dartford at Southwood on Tuesday.

First half goals from midfielder Shane Suter and striker Shaun Welford was enough for the Ryman League Division 1 high-flyers to dispatch their Southern League Division 1 East opponents, despite Ian Pulman pulling a late goal back for Tony Burman's side.

Tonbridge Angels missed the chance to leap-frog Ramsgate at the top of the Ryman League Division 1 table as they suffered a disappointing 1-0 home defeat to Metropolitan Police. They do still have a game in had on Jim Ward's team, though.

Dover Athletic lie in fifth place after their goalless draw at Croydon Athletic. It was Clive Walker's side's third consecutive clean sheet.

Chatham Town and Sittingbourne both took a point from their respective Southern League Division 1 East clashes.

Rob Denness's 53rd minute strike earned Chats a 1-1 against Harlow Town after Henry Davis had given the visitors a first half lead.

A Mark Lovell penalty with just 15 minutes to play looked to have secured three points for Sittis against Waltham Forest at Bourne Park only for Marc Ward to earn the visitors a share of the spoils five minutes later.
