Maidstone United v AFC Wimbledon

Maidstone should have a fully fit squad to choose from for their FA Cup Fourth Qualifying Round clash at home to AFC Wimbledon.

After severe injury problems over recent weeks, joint-boss Llyd Hume hopes to have everyone available for Saturday’s tie at Bourne Park, Sittingbourne, which is expected to attract a crowd of 2,000.

He said: “We are hoping that everyone will be available. Roland Edge and Kevin Watson are the only two who are 50/50.”

Ben Lewis and Ian Cox are set to return to the heart of the Stones defence with Jay Saunders reverting to his usual midfield role.

Ian Selley and Meshach Nugent are also likely to feature after sitting out Tuesday’s First FA Trophy First Qualifying Round replay win at AFC Hornchurch.

Hume said: “Our youngsters and some of our fringe players did very well in that game but we told them afterwards, we will go with our fit, experienced players on Saturday.”

He added: “We want to win the game. We will play our own game and I have no doubt if we stick to our game plan and play to our potential then we can win.

“Obviously though, if Wimbledon play to their potential then we are going to find it very difficult to live with them.

“We will be using the First Round as a carrot. We all know what’s at stake. We could appear on Match of the Day or be live on TV. All players want to have days like that.”

He added: “This is a cup final for us, we have plenty of experienced players like Cox, Edge and Selley who has played in a European Cup Final. They won’t be phased.”
