Men charged with burglaries after Gillingham arrest

Two people have been charged with conspiring to commit burglaries, after being stopped in Gillingham.

Michael O’Brien and a 17-year-old boy were tactically stopped by Kent Police officers while they were travelling in Hoath Way, Gillingham on Wednesday June 6.

The stop was made after officers identified them as potential suspects for burglary offences across the county.

O’Brien, who is 25 and of no fixed address, has since been charged with conspiring to commit burglary with intent to steal, dangerous driving and using a motor vehicle without third party insurance.

The teenage boy, who is from the Braintree area, has been charged with conspiring to commit burglary with intent to steal.

Both were remanded in custody to appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court on Friday June 8.
