POLICE have issued an e-fit image in connection with their enquiries into a robbery at a fast-food restaurant in Sittingbourne.

Three members of staff at the Kentucky Fried Chicken in East Street were held at knifepoint during the incident which happened at around 10.30pm on Wednesday, October 15.

Two men stole money from the safe but police will not say how much "due to operational reasons."

Ten minutes before the robbery a white woman in her thirties entered the shop and ordered a bucket of chicken. She refused to walk on the wet floor and left in a silver car so police are keen to identify her because she could be a vital witness.

The material witness pictured was white, 5ft 10in - 6ft tall, of stocky build and in his mid-thirties. He wore a black balaclava, a dark-coloured fleece jacket with a front zip and dark trousers.

He was accompanied by another white man, around 6ft 4in tall, medium build, with a pale complexion and cropped dark hair. He had a two-inch scar which ran leftwards from the centre of his left eyebrow. He also had a dimple on his chin and pocked cheeks. He wore a green waist-length polyester coat.

Police are not ruling out that the robbery was connected to a similar incident at the Gillingham Kentucky Fried Chicken on Sunday, October 5, at 11pm.

Investigating officer PC Vincent Straine-Francis, said: "I do not believe this is the first time these suspects have committed a crime like this, but I am keen to see it is the last. In cases like these we appreciate any information that may help us with our enquiry."

Witnesses are asked to contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
