From tonight, series of evening closures A20 between Capel and Dover's Limekiln roundabout

An entire stretch of Dover's A20 shut tonight in a series of seven closures.

The shutdown will be for coastbound traffic between the Courtwood roundabout at Capel-le-Ferne and Dover's Limekiln roundabout.

This is for the replacement of roundabouts with traffic lights at the road's York Street and Prince of Wales junctions.

This work is part of the wider Dover Western Docks Revival, a redevelopment by the Port of Dover.

The first two consecutive closures are from tonight from 9pm to 5am and tomorrow night at the same times.

Then there are five consecutive overnight shutdowns at the same times from the night of Monday, November 21 until the morning of Saturday, November 26.

Kent County Council's Highways department says that during these times coastbound traffic will be diverted via the B2011 Folkestone Road, Whitfield Hill and the A2.

Port traffic will be encouraged to use the A2/M2 for Dover via Highways England gantry signs from the M25.
