Liam Daish says he won’t be rushed as he sets about completing his squad-building plans ahead of life back in Blue Square Bet Premier next season.

The Ebbsfleet boss (pictured) is in discussions with several players but admitted: "We can’t spend what we haven’t got. It’s a case of holding our nerve and sticking to our guns.

"I will always try and stay ahead of the game but know there will be players who are out of our league.

"I have got to bide my time and be patient. If I don’t get my first choice players, then I will go for the second."

Daish is still waiting to hear if midfielder Ashley Carew and last season’s top scorer Calum Willock will commit themselves to the club.

He said: "They are still in my plans, whether we are in theirs I don’t know. The situation is still ongoing and hopefully it’s going to be sorted out but it’s still quite early."

Fleet’s budget plans, designed to see the club break even next season, are presently under discussion by MyFC members who will then vote on them.

Ebbsfleet’s long distance travels have increased following the decision to expel former champions Rushden & Diamonds for financial reasons.
