Plenty of pumpkin pie for young growers

Pumpkins galore filled Chartham farmers’ market when youngsters showed off the fruits of their labours.

Thye had been given pumpkin seeds to grow on with the challenge to see who could achieve the best.

The winner was Hollie Curtis, 11, who received a £10 book token.

The competition was organised by the farmers’ market, at the village hall in Station Road, and will become an annual event.
