Driver arrested as foreign van overturns on M20 between Ashford and Hythe

A man has been arrested and taken to hospital after a crash on the M20 early today.

A van overturned on the coast-bound carriageway between Ashford and Hythe at about 2.35am.

The driver of the foreign-registered vehicle was cut free from the wreckage by firefighters.

He received treatment at the scene and has been taken to a London hospital. Police said he has also been arrested.

The man's injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

The road was closed between J10 for Ashford and J11 for Hythe for investigation, with traffic diverted via the A20 to J11.

It was reopened at about 6.30am.
