Better lights display

THIS year’s Christmas lights in Canterbury city centre should be better than ever, with extra ones planned for Burgate, the city council has said.

It is contributing £20,000 towards the cost, with city centre traders putting in £5,000, to create a really festive feel.

But this year there will not be the traditional big switch-on ceremony.
