Cannabis found after car stopped in Canterbury

Police say they seized more than £1.6k of illegal drugs after pulling over a car.

Officers stopped the vehicle at around 4.30pm yesterday, November 9, in Canterbury.

Kent Police's proactive targeting team were on patrol around Longport when they received a report from another patrol about a Toyota being driven suspiciously.

After spotting, stopping and searching the car, officers found a large amount of cannabis hidden in cavities in the body of it.

Phones and cash were also seized.

A 38-year-old man from Sittingbourne was arrested on suspicion of possessing drugs with intent to supply.

He was taken into custody while inquiries continue.
