Man struck by car near Canterbury dies

A man has died after he was struck by a car near Canterbury on Saturday night.

The 21-year-old pedestrian, who is yet to be named, was hit by an Audi TT on the A2 slip road at Harbledown.

Ambulance paramedics rushed to the scene around 11.45pm to treat the injured man, but were unable to save him and he died soon after.

The car was travelling towards Canterbury at the time of the accident and had just left the A2.

The road was closed shortly after and reopened at 4.30am on Sunday.

Police investigations have begun and officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are now appealing for any witnesses to contact them on 01622 798538.
