Pregnant woman cut free from car crash wreckage on the A260 at Barham near Canterbury

A pregnant woman has been cut from the wreckage of a car crash.

Fire crews used 'jaws of life' cutting equipment to release the driver following a collision between two vehicles on the A260 at Barham near Canterbury yesterday evening.

Emergency services, including two fire engines and paramedics were called to the scene shorty before 6pm and the delicate operation to free the woman took around 30 minutes

She was then placed in the care of paramedics and taken to hospital.

Fire crews then made the scene of the crash safe and left shortly before 7pm.
