Suspect package alert at university

Police were called to Kent University this morning for a suspect package alert in the estates depoartment.

Officers sealed roads off after the alarm was raised at 8.20am.

The roads were reopened soon afterwards when it emerged that the packets were harmless.

Police spokesman Jane Walker said: "It turned out the parcels had been expected and the officers were stood down."
