Two charged after cooking pots allegedly stolen from Lakeland at Bluewater

Two men have been charged after £1,000 of cooking pots were reportedly stolen from a shopping centre store.

Five boxes of the high value pots were taken from Lakeland at Bluewater on May 26.

On Tuesday (October 10), police were notified that a van believed to have transported the stolen goods had returned to the shopping centre.

The vehicle was located in one of the car parks and two men were arrested shortly after.

Joseph McDonnaugh, 25, of Chaucer Close in Enfield, north London, and David Reilly, 27, of Abbey Close in Hackney, east London, have both since been charged with theft.

McDonnaugh has also been charged with fraud in relation to the use of a false vehicle registration plate.

Both men were bailed to attend Medway Magistrates’ Court on Friday, November 3.
