Dover boss Martin Hayes is keen for his side to remain under the radar in Blue Square Bet South, despite the chance of topping the table by Saturday night.

The Whites are looking for their fifth straight away win, at Hampton & Richmond on Saturday and, should leaders Bromley fail to win, could take over at the top.

Hayes (pictured) said his side would be going all out for the win but added: "I’m not desperate to be top at this time. I’m perfectly happy to sit in the middle of the pack.

"No prizes are handed out in October, it’s the end of April that matters."

Dover continued their hot streak in front of goal with a 5-1 win at Safety Net Kent League Erith Town in the FA Cup on Saturday, which earned a third qualifying round tie at home to Southern League leaders Cambridge City.

Meanwhile, the Whites’ longest-serving player, James Rogers, has signed for Margate after finding first-team opportunities limited in the wake of Martin Hayes’ arrival.

Rogers scored on his debut for Dover seven years ago last week and joins Shaun Welford and Craig Cloke who have swapped Crabble for Hartsdown Park.

Hayes said: "James has had limited chances in the first team and this move will give him the chance to get games. We’ve parted on good terms. The door’s certainly not closed on him returning to Dover in the future."
