Boss Kevin Watson has told his Chatham players to be ruthless if they want to pull off an FA Cup upset at Hastings on Saturday.

Hastings play in the Ryman League, Premier Division, one level above Watson's Division 1 North side.

The hosts are expected to go through but Watson (pictured) believes Chats are capable of causing an upset in the first qualifying round tie.

He said: "There's an opportunity to progress and we have to be ruthless.

"Win, lose or draw, it's important we leave Hastings with no regrets. We can't come away thinking 'I wish we'd done this or that'.

"The FA Cup is such a prestigious competition and we have aspirations to have a decent run.

"There's always going to be a few hurdles in the way and you have to expect to come up against teams from a higher level.

"But if you get through a few rounds, it's also a chance to boost the club's finances through prize money.

"It won't be easy at Hastings but we're looking forward to it and I want us to go there and enjoy it."

The winners of tomorrow's tie will pocket £3,000 and there's £4,500 at stake in the second qualifying round.
