The Thanet Way has reopened coast-bound after three accidents closed the carriageway this morning.
They all happened in heavy rain and hail near the Chestfield tunnel but it is not known if they are connected.
No one was seriously injured.
The Thanet Way was closed from the junction with the A2990 at Whitstable to the A291 Canterbury Road near Herne Bay with traffic diverted along the old Thanet Way.
But road works along that stretch led to big tailbacks.
