Dealerships set for Fiesta fun

COMEDIAN Bobby Davro will join SMC Ford in celebrating the launch of the new Fiesta in Kent on April 17 - and everyone's invited.

SMC Ford's three dealerships in Kent will be welcoming the comic on launch night, ensuring that people across Kent have an opportunity to see both the entertainer and the unveiling of Ford's new star.

Visitors can call at the car company's Crayford dealership (6.30pm), Gravesend (7.30pm) or Sittingbourne (8.30pm) and join in the fun. They will enjoy a glass of wine and a buffet, while taking a closer look at the Fiesta.

The new model is larger than its predecessor. In five-door form, it's 87mm longer, 50mm wider and 100mm taller.

Three petrol engines are offered: a 67bhp 1.3-litre eight valve, a 16-valve 79bhp 1.4 and a range-topping 1.6-litre 16-valve that's good for 99bhp.

For those looking to squeeze a few more miles from their gallon, a latest-generation 1.4-litre TDCi common-rail diesel unit is offered.

According to SMC Ford those who book a test drive will find that this Fiesta is a more competent handler than its predecessor.

A spokesman said: "As a result, its handling is elevated to a position above and beyond any existing supermini, while its ride and refinement are comparable with the class best."

All the models are fitted with intelligent windscreen wipers, a CD stereo, central locking and Ford's "Intelligent Protection System." Prices start from £8,495.

To join Bobby Davro in celebrating at SMC Ford, call in at Crown Quay Lane, Sittingbourne; Heath House, Thames Road, Crayford; Eagle Way, Stonebridge Road, Gravesend.
