Girl seriously hurt as car and bus collide

A YOUNG girl was taken to hospital suffering from serious head injuries after the car she was travelling in collided with a bus near Sidcup.

The accident occurred on the Foots Cray High Street side of Ruxley Roundabout in Foots Cray at about 1.20pm on Wednesday.

Eye witnesses described how a dark blue Ford Mondeo was turning the corner towards Maidstone Road when it was in collision with the oncoming mobile library bus.

The car was being driven by a woman who had a small child and another a young girl passenger with her.

Police, fire crews from Sidcup, Eltham and Bexleyheath fire and rescue unit, and the London Air Ambulance were called to the scene. The road was cleared by 2pm.
