Gun-carrying raiders rob Post Office

DETECTIVES are appealing for witnesses to an armed robbery at a Post Office in Bubblestone Road, Otford, near Sevenoaks.

Two men entered the shop at about 2.45pm on Thursday. While one raider stood by the door the other, carrying a small handgun, went to the counter and demanded money from a member of staff.

The shop's alarm was activated but an undisclosed amount of cash was passed across the counter. The raiders then ran from the premises and down an alleyway towards a car.

It is believed they drove off in the direction of the A21 Badgers Mount. No one was hurt in the incident.

One of the robbers is described as white, aged between 20-30, about 5ft 8ins tall, and of medium build. He was wearing a reflective jacket, light coloured hat and sunglasses.

The other man is white, aged between 17-30, about 5ft 9ins tall, and of medium build. He was wearing wearing a camouflage-patterned jacket, hat and sunglasses.

Detectives want to hear from anyone who has information about the incident or who may have seen the men in the area at the time.
