Firefighters tackle huge blaze on A102 approach road to Blackwall Tunnel

Kent drivers are facing huge delays getting in and out of London after a blaze at a motorcycle repair shop.

The A102 approach road to the Blackwall Tunnel has been closed in both directions because of a building fire which also involves gas cylinders.

The blaze broke out in a motorcycle repair shop just before 6am, and around 35 firefighters are tackling the blaze.

Fire station manager Tim Frost said: "The whole of the repair workshop is alight.

"We believe that there are a number of gas cylinders inside the premises. Fire crews will be working to cool the down the cylinders, as some of them can explode when exposed to heat.

ā€œIā€™d advise people to avoid the Blackwall Tunnel and surrounding roads as there is heavy traffic congestion.ā€
