Investigation launched into factory blaze

FIREFIGHTERS tackled a factory fire in St Paul’s Cray on Tuesday night after a disused factory caught fire.

Appliances from Orpington, Sidcup and Bromley fire stations arrived at the building in Chalk Pit Lane at around 9pm.

They were forced to use breathing apparatus to tackle the ground floor electrical fire.

No-one was in the factory at the time of the incident and fire crews left the scene at around 11pm.

The London Fire Brigade is investigating the cause of the blaze.
