Lords to debate smacking issue

A MOVE to make it illegal for parents to smack their youngsters could come a step closer today.

At present mothers and fathers can use a reasonable degree of force to discipline their children.

The House of Lords is expected to vote on an amendment to the Children's Bill which could outlaw the practice.
