A MAN has been arrested by police after the discovery of 540 cannabis plants in a house in a Kent town.

Police say the plants - which were found in Blenheim Avenue, Chatham - had an estimated street value of £135,000.

The suspect is being held on suspicion of cultivating cannabis.

PC Damien Shaw said: "It is important that local people continue to work with police by reporting suspicious behaviour."
