Policeman in struggle with graffiti pair

POLICE were called to the railway station at Higham, near Rochester, this afternoon after an incident in which an off-duty officer tried to stop two children spraying graffiti.

A spokesman for British Transport Police said there was a struggle as the officer attempted to restrain the pair.

He raised the alarm and other officers were sent to the scene. A BTP spokesman said: "Kent Police are dealing with the incident now."

One train due to leave Higham station was delayed by half an hour.
