Pub customers tackle car blaze

QUICK-THINKING drinkers turned firefighters last night when they used buckets of water to tackle a blaze in a pub car park.

They joined staff from the Fox and Hounds, in Biggin Hill, who also used a fire extinguisher on a car which was alight.

By the time firefighters arrived in Main Road at 10.20pm it was almost completely out.

An officer from Biggin Hill fire station said it meant the Citreon Xantia, which is thought it had been doused in petrol, was not badly damaged.

Police are investigating the incident.
