Gillingham 3 - Notts Forest 1

GILLS ended up with a deserved three points on a wet Medway afternoon.

The home side got off to the worst possible start when a blunder by keeper Jason Brown gifted Forest the lead in the ninth minute.

Brown stood on the ball trying to control Guy Butters' over-hit back pass and slipped only for the ball to roll to Jack Lester who had the simple task in rolling the ball in.

It was tough on Gills but they bounced back and came closest in the firsrt half when Iffy Onuora hit the post from Roland Edge's cross.

Gills came out with all guns blazing after the break and restored parity four minutes after the restart when Marlon King fired home.

Gills poured forward and eventually took the lead 10 minutes from time when Paul Shaw and Guy Ipoua linked well and King supplied the finish.

Marcus Browning's 20-yard screamer in the 83rd minute put the icing on the cake.
