Canvey Island v Margate

Margate manager Terry Yorath is hoping to complete the signing of a striker before Saturday's trip to Canvey Island.

Yorath's side enjoyed plenty of possession in their 2-0 defeat by Ryman 1 South leaders Dover Athletic last weekend but were unable to turn it into goals, and Yorath said: "That's been our big problem all season. We were the better footballing side (against Dover), but they scored from the only two chances they were given."

This Saturday's trip is the first of three away games in a row for Margate, with Sutton United (Jan 10) and AFC Hornchurch (Jan 17) - all of whom are in the top half of the table - next up and Yorath knows he must find a solution to his side's scoring problems soon.

Midfielder Dan Stubbs is ruled out against Canvey by a one-game ban while Yorath will check on Dan Young's condition after the defender had to go off against Dover with concussion.

Although Hartsdown Park was frozen in the early part of the week, Yorath was hoping to be able to get in a training session on Thursday evening.
