CHARLTON youngster Osei Sankofa has signed a new one-year contract at the club.

The 22-year-old full-back has put pen to paper after playing in 12 Premiership games for the Addicks last season.

Sankofa said: "I think I proved last season that I can do a job for this club. It was very disappointing to go down but I want to be part of the team that gets the club back where it belongs."

It has been a busy few days for boss Alan Pardew, who also completed the signings of Leicester skipper Patrick McCarthy and 16-year-old Mikkell Rygaard Jensen from Danish side Herfolge Boldklub.
