Maidstone man charged with burglary and fraud, due to appear at Maidstone Magistrates' Court

A man stands accused of a string of fraud offences and a burglary in Maidstone.

Jason Higgins, 49, of Milton Street, Maidstone, will appear at the town's magistrates' court next month, after he was charged with burglary, attempted burglary, theft and five counts of fraud.

Police were called about an attempted break-in at a house and theft from a garden shed in Tonbridge Road, in the early hours of Saturday, March 29.

Later that morning a bank card stolen from a car parked in Tonbridge Road was apparently used to make purchases at a petrol station in London Road and a newsagents in Upper Fant Road.

It is also alleged Higgins used the stolen card to pay for two taxi fares.
