PYO pumpkins in Hoo closes after burst water main floods entrance

A popular pumpkin-picking site was forced to close after a burst water main flooded its entrance.

PYO Pumpkins in Hoo shared the frustrating news on its Facebook page this morning.

Bosses posted: "We are closed due to a burst water main in the entrance to our fields.

"We will review this as soon as Southern Water turn off the main.

"If you are unable to use your ticket for today, you will be contacted. Please bear with us."

Sharing a video of the flooded site, they added: "On a positive note it hasn’t rained much and car park conditions are good if only we could get you there."

There are more than 100 comments beneath the post – many from people who were planning on visiting the site today.

One commenter sympathised: "Not what you need a week before Halloween! Hope it’s sorted quickly."

Another wrote: "What a nightmare. Not what you need at all."

A decision was later taken to shut the site for the day, with customers offered refunds.
