The 180g bar – which was described as being ‘infused with real orange oil’ – is being phased out because of the changing tastes of customers.

A spokesman said: “We continuously adapt our product range to ensure it meets changing tastes whilst supporting growth for our customers and business.”

Other orange-flavoured chocolate in the Cadbury range including orange flavoured chocolate buttons and the orange-flavoured Twirl bar will remain on shop and supermarket shelves, says the firm, for ‘consumers to enjoy’.

In July last year Cadbury announced it was discontinuing individual packets of its Dairy Milk Treatsize Buttons, while 2023 also saw it stop making Dairy Milk Egg ‘n’ Spoons as part of its Easter range.

The coins had been first discontinued in 2014, much to the disappointment of shoppers who regularly appealed for their return on social media.
