A caravan has blocked a road during the afternoon school-run, forcing some bus passengers to walk the rest of their journeys.

The mobile home got stuck in Northdown Hill in Broadstairs, making the route completely impassable.

Caroline Smith was on a bus on her way to pick up her children from Bromstone Primary School when they were halted by the obstruction.

"I was on the bus going to collect my kids and the bus stopped," she told KentOnline.

"I saw the caravan stuck there half on the driveway and half on road so I had to get off and walk the rest of the way.

"It was a half-an-hour walk. I was not impressed as they could have done this at a better time and now I'm late collecting my kids.

"It looks like they are trying to take it down a long, narrow path. Hopefully we can get a bus back and won't have to walk."

Traffic reporting service Inrix says the route has now been cleared.

But there still appear to be delays on the road, according to Google Maps.
