Police cars on 999 call collide

TWO police cars were in collision as they were answering an emergency call, it has been revealed.

Officers on patrol in the Kemble Close area of Tunbridge Wells on Tuesday night were requested to attend an immediate call in another part of the town.

Two police cars in the area responded, and as they were beding driven along Liptraps Lane, heading towards Pembury Road, they were in collision.

Officers in both cars suffered minor injuries and one officer was taken to the Kent and Sussex Hospital, Tunbridge Wells, for a check-up. He was released shortly afterwards. No other vehicles were involved.

Both cars suffered collision damage, as did a roadside lamppost.

As is usual in any incident involving police vehicles, the Serious Collision Unit were advised as was the Professional Standards Department.
