Armed police were called to a housing estate after reports a man was in possession of a weapon.
Officers attended the scene in Bluebell Road, Park Farm, in Ashford at around 10pm last night.
The suspect had left prior to the arrival of patrols and a search of the area was completed including the use of a drone.
The man was not located and police say enquiries into the incident are underway.
No injuries were reported.
