Leon Camier won both races in the fourth round of the ViSK British Superbike Championship at Thruxton to extend his lead in the standings to 38 points.

The Ashford rider, pictured right, finished ahead of Airwaves Yamaha team-mate James Ellison in each race and for the third race out of four following last week’s one-two at Donington Park.

Camier started from pole in race one but slipped to fourth at the first corner.

However after posting the fastest lap of the race, Camier moved up to second and overtook Ellison at Cobb on the third lap, before cruising through the final 17 laps and crossing the line 1.3sec clear.

Ellison also started the better in race two and took the lead off the line with Camier slotting in behind.

He passed Ellison at the Club chicane at the end of the first lap before setting the fastest lap of the meeting with 1min14.933sec - just one hundredth of a second off the circuit record.

Camier finished more than 3.5sec clear and leads the championship standings with 167 points.

Camier said: "To get another double win, and to see Airwaves Yamaha achieve one-twos in both races, feels fantastic.

"I really want to thank everyone at GSE Racing and Airwaves Yamaha for all their hard work."

The fifth round of the championship is at Snetterton from June 19-21.
