Teenager seen 'waving meat cleaver' near Ashford Co-op

Police were called after motorists reported seeing a teenager waving a weapon at passing cars.

Officers descended on a road in Willesborough, Ashford, following the incident at about 4pm yesterday.

Residents reported seeing a young man waving what appeared to be a meat cleaver at cars in Hunter Road.

The incident happened at the top of the street, where cars were travelling in the direction of the Co-op.

Officers searched the area but were unable to find the boy.

A police spokesman said: "We were called at 4pm on Sunday following a report that a teenage boy waved an object at a passing car in Hunter Road, Ashford.

"Officers carried out a search of the area but the boy was not located."
