Abandoned young Persian cats saved from death in Biddenden by Ashford RSPCA

Two young Persian cats have been rescued after they were found just days from death.

The RSPCA is appealing for information after the long-haired males were found abandoned in Biddenden.

A resident discovered the animals on Monday, and took the bedraggled pair to a nearby vet, who contacted the RSPCA.

The duo, the black one named Mario and the lighter one named Gordon, are less than a year old.

They are now being cared for by the charity’s Ashford, Tenterden & District branch at Ashford Garden Cattery.

Centre manager Ian Jubb said: “A member of the public found them near her house and suspects they were abandoned nearby.

“They are in an awful state. They are both really matted and really skinny. One was very dehydrated when he first came in and they both had very gunky eyes.

“They were both skin and bone, they have not been cared for properly.

“Mario, in particular, was very weak. I’m not sure he would have survived for many more days.”

The RSPCA is now appealing for anyone who might recognise the cats or know where they have come from.
