New signing Craig Cloke says his move to Hythe Town suits him perfectly.

The 27 year-old defender is Scott Porter’s first summer signing, agreeing a one-year deal after leaving Margate where he was out of contract.

Cloke said: "I am delighted with the move, a few other clubs were showing an interest in me, but I did my homework on Hythe, and they look like a side who will be pushing from promotion next season.

"I spoke to a lot of people in the area that I know, and they believe Scott is a young manager who is only going to get better."

Cloke (pictured) agreed the move with Porter last Friday morning, ahead of the Hythe squad leaving on their end of season trip to Ibiza.

Hythe are planning their pre-season friendly programme, and hope to arrange fixtures against Charlton, Ebbsfleet and Tonbridge as well as games against Erith & Belvedere and Ashford United.
