Don't leave keys near your letterbox

A WARNING about the theft of keys from inside homes has been issued by Kent Police.

In recent weeks, there have been reports in the Ashford and Weald area concerning bunches of keys being left on hall tables, hanging by back doors, or left in the locks.

Thieves have reached through cat flaps and letterboxes and used the keys to enter homes and steal cars.

Det Sgt Mark Buck said: “Keys should not be left in close proximity to cat flaps or letterboxes.

"If possible, keys should be stored in a key press with a digital lock, or at least put out of sight."
