Folkestone Invicta’s players have got on their bikes in an effort to keep fit during the cold snap.

The club were offered the use of an indoor facility in the town and manager Neil Cugley (pictured) said: "It was just a one-off but we used it as a bit of a training session as we haven’t been able to get out and train on the pitch because of the weather.

"It was competitive and the boys enjoyed doing something different but we just want to get out and start playing again now. The first week helped but the second was frustrating."

Invicta’s Ryman League, Division 1 South clash against play-off rivals Maidstone United at Sittingbourne was the first to fall victim to the ice and snow last week, being called off on Thursday afternoon.

Invicta travel to Faversham this Saturday, the second of three successive Kent derbies.

A 4-0 defeat at home to Merstham last time out capped a four-game winless run for Invicta, following three successive draws, and Cugley said: "We need to pick up our momentum again as quickly as we can.

"I don’t think we played as well last month, as we did in December and our finishing wasn’t as good either."

Cugley has a fully fit squad to choose from, with no injuries or suspensions.
