Police officers investigating the whereabouts of a missing 58-year-old woman from Folkestone have found the body of a woman in the Sunny Sands area of the town.

On Saturday morning Kent Police had issued an appeal for help in finding a woman who had gone missing from her home at around 6am that morning.

The discovery of the body was made by a member of the public at around 1pm on Saturday.

A post mortem to determine the cause of death will take place but at this time the incident is not being treated as suspicious by police.
