An investigation has been launched following reports a woman was sexually assaulted.

Police say at around 8.30am on Saturday in Ashford, a woman was approached by a boy and inappropriately touched over her clothing.

She challenged the suspect who then ran away.

It happened in Hoxton Close, in Singleton.

Around two hours later, a potted plant was thrown through a door at a woman at Tip Top Hair Design, in the same street.

Inquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances.
