Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to the blaze in Buck Street, Challock, just after 4pm today.

Three fire engines and a height vehicle are in attendance, and crews wearing breathing apparatus used hose reel jets to tackle the flames in the roof.

A KFRS spokesman had said earlier this evening: "Traffic around the incident is building, and therefore drivers are advised to avoid the area and find alternative routes.

"Please share this information with anyone you know without access to the internet, who may plan to use this route."

But by 8.35 tonight it announced that the fire was out and the area was clear for traffic.

KFRS said there were no reported injuries but its volunteer response team attended to provide support to three occupants.

The cause of the fire is not yet known.
