Rain ruined the matches involving local sides in the Shepherd Neame Kent League on Saturday, with not one match played through to a conclusion.

Ashford, playing Sandwich in Division 1, were going along nicely at 170-2 from 35 overs when the rain arrived.

At that point, Stuart Paine (41 not out) and Shannon Fattore (36 not out) had put on 93 runs for the third wicket but all to no avail.

Tenterden’s match with fellow strugglers Canterbury was also hit by rain, with Canterbury reaching 72-1 before the elements intervened.
